“We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.”
Dalaï Lama

Welcome to the world of My Mini Yogini!

I believe the philosophy of Yoga can be (and should be) taught to all children from a young age.

Yoga teaches us respect, patience, perseverance, focus, ... It teaches us to respect our bodies and our minds and how to navigate our emotions.

Any child can grasp the notions Yoga has to offer, and I would like to help in bringing those notions into your childrens' lives.

My classes will be starting soon (in May) at See u, in collaboration with le haricot magique and Edna.

(Enrollment via email - myminiyogini@icloud.com - 1 Lesson = 1 hour = 13€)

Classes last an hour, and focus on communication and emotions.

They are a mixture of yoga poses, games, meditation/relaxation/stories, arts & crafts, and a moment of reflection/discussion.

They have to be fun! I truly believe in having fun while learning!

I try to listen to the needs of the children and adapt my classes according to their needs, it's a two-fold learning experience, I'm pretty sure they teachme more than I teach them ;-)

(For the moment I only teach in French but could definitely adapt and propose sessions in English if the need arrises, as I am an English native speaker)

Don't hesitate to contact me either via e-mail or via my Instagram account My_mini_yogini if you have any questions/suggestions.

Next lessons start in July at See U every Thursday (during the market), in collaboration with le haricot magique and Edna.

Who am I?

My name is Claire Henriksen, I am British/Belgian and was educated in French, in Brussels.

I work in Human Resources, I am a singer in a jazz trio called Cotton Flow and I have been teaching Yoga to children since 2019.

Why did I choose Yoga for Children?

It was in 2018, during my YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) in India that the idea of teaching yoga to children really came to life.

If the lessons I learned in India at the age of 37 had been available to me when I was a child I'm pretty sure I would have navigated my life with more ease.

This is what prompted me to specialise in Yoga for children when I returned to Brussels.

I wanted to bring these notions, these tools to others from the youngest age possible.

The sooner you have these tools in hand, the better you will learn to use them.

Trainings / qualifications

I took a YTT (200H) in 2018 at the World Peace Yoga School in Rishikesh, India.

When I returned to Brussels, I taught English to children at Kids&Us, which only reinforced my desire to work with children.

I followed a course on Yoga for children at Ajna Yoga (in French, in Brussels), which I followed up with an online course by Yoga Break for Children (in English).

I'm interested in Yoga and its benefits but also in education and well-being in general.

I learn every day, I train, I read, and I put into practice what I read about.

I try to translate these notions in a simple and accessible way in order to make it reader-friendly for everyone.

There's more...

I need you, to go further!!
